Orchid Scarf
This fine, semi-sheer scarf is knit in two pieces from the hem to the center back, then grafted together. Knit in finer yarn on smaller needles it will be more sheer and narrower, while larger needles and heavier yarn will produce a wider, denser piece.

Scarf may be shortened or lengthened by subtracting or adding repeats of the main body section (see instructions); changing each half by one pattern repeat will result in a 6” overall difference in length after blocking.

Finished Size:
Unblocked dimensions: approximately 8 inches wide and 54 inches long
Finished dimensions: 11” W X 64” L (stretched and blocked)

Gauge: 26 sts and 30 rows in stockinette on size 6 needles, unblocked (fabric will be relaxed)

Needles required:  Size 6(4mm) or size to obtain guage. (not included)

Techniques used:  k, p, yo, ssk, k2tog, s1 k2tog psso, cntr dbl dec, k3tog, k3tog tbl, and grafting

Casino Shawl
This shawl in three sizes Tall (Petite, Mini) may be worked in different yarns/stitch count to obtain the desired size. Final size will vary according to yarn selection and needle size. Heavier yarns and larger needles will produce a larger shawl, thinner yarns and smaller needles will produce a smaller one.

Wing 'O The Moth Shawl

A light and airy shawl in the Shetland style to knit from laceweight mohair or fingering wool.  Pattern includes a scarf/doll shawl version.

Finished Size shawl: approx 84” across long (top) edge and 36” down the center back, after blocking scarf: approx 42” across long edge and 15” down center back, after blocking

Obstacles Shawl/Scarf
This generous shawl or scarf knits up quickly into a lightweight, warm garment meant to be wrapped several times, replacing the need for a bulky jacket.

Finished Size (blocked):
  Shawl: 19” W

Final measurements are dependent on yarn/needle choices; finer yarns and smaller needles will reduce the overall dimensions, while heavier yarns and larger needles will increase the size.

Yarn requirements: Shawl: 900 yards / Scarf: 450 yds

Gauge 16 sts and 24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch (unblocked; fabric will feel light and be somewhat open); fabric will block out to a larger size for finished piece.

Needles Size 8 (or size to obtain correct gauge; needles one size smaller for garter edgings A needle one size smaller than the body needles will be needed for garter edging.

Jackie's Notes:  This is a fun and easy pattern with 2, 4 row repeats each repeated 4 times.  It is very versatile and could be worn with a tee shirt and jeans to the grocery store or with a simple evening dress for an evening out.

I am making one in the Kasuri Silk Tweed in the Yellow colorway.

Starlight Evening Wrap
Shawl size may be altered by using a different yarn weight or different needle sizes, and by lengthening or shortening the body section (instructions included).  The sample shawl, knit to the gauge and length stated in the pattern, gained approximately 30% in length and 20% in width during the blocking process.

Finished Size: pre-blocking: 20”W x 72”L
post-blocking: 24”W
x 96”L

Yarn requirements: 1400 yds of fine fingering weight yarn (sample done with 8 oz @ 175 yds per ounce)

Gauge 24 sts and 36 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch on size 6 needles (fabric will be loosely knit)

Needles size 6 or size to obtain gauge and a needle 2 sizes smaller for the deep mesh edging

Morning Glory Wrap
This rectangular wrap is begun at the hem and worked toward the center back.  Stole may be shortened to wrap length by working fewer repeats in the morning glories section but taking care to end on the same row as the pattern instructs. Using smaller needles and finer yarn will also produce a smaller piece. Sample gained approximately 30% in length and width when blocked.

Finished Size: pre-blocking: shorter length 18” W x 60” L / longer length 18”W x 68” L

Finished dimensions: 24” W x 78” L / 24” W x 90” L

Yarn requirements:  approximately 700 (850) yards of soft DK weight yarn

Gauge 16 sts and 24 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch (preblocked; fabric will be loosely knit)

Needles 5.5 mm needle (US size 9); a needle with a slender, tapered point is highly recommended
