The Knitting Hutch

Leaves on the Water Socks

Pattern:  This pattern came from the Fall 05 issue of http://knitty.com and is called Falling Leaves.  I improvised a little by using the Magic Cast-on Method of toe up socks instead of the provisional short row method in the pattern.

Eat Your Veggies

Love this colorway by Claudia.

All wound up

Takes 2 skeins of this fingering weight yarn for a pair of socks.

Leaves on the Water

The colors and pattern remind me of leaves reflecting on water.

Up close and personal

Thoughts on this project.  I didn't know how I'd like a lacy sock since I normally wear ribbed or stockinette socks but I have to say I'm a convert.  This project has inspired me to create my personal sock recipes.

Magic Cast-on toes (with k1fb instead of lifted increase)
72 stiches around
12 stitch repeating pattern for instep and leg
Shortrow heel
1-2 inch k2p2 ribbing for cuff
Elastic Bind-Off

Yarn:  Claudia HandPainted Yarn
in the Eat Your Veggies colorway.

2 skeins - 100% Wool

Needles:  2 16" size 0 Addi Turbo circular needles.

I did 2 socks on 2 circulars.

Inspiration:  The lacy leaf pattern with the colors in this yarn were all the inspiration I needed for this one.
Date Completed:  09/20/2006.
